What is LimitApp?

LimitApp© by Software Design, Inc. is a simple but effective program for controlling the launching of license metered software applications.

LimitApp© was initially created for our clients who were having problems with running out of metered licenses of their third party core business application. The business application could track the number of concurrent running licenses, but was not able to limit the number of launched applications by the end user – consequently a user could be utilizing more than one metered license of the application which in turn prevented a user from running the application when all of the metered licenses were exhausted.

LimitApp© works in conjunction with your metered business application by limiting the number of instances that the user can be running at any point in time. This not only controls misuse of metered application use, but also can be a significant cost saver for your organization. By limiting the number of instances that a user can have running for a metered application can result in having to purchase less software licenses.

How to use LimitApp.

LimitApp© launches your controlled program up to the maximum number of instances allowed.

LimitApp© will restrict subsequent launchings of the metered application beyond the instances that you specify.

Works in conjunction with your Policies and Procedures.

LimitApp© is designed to operate in conjunction with your company’s polices and procedures. The IT department or other designated department is responsible for enforcing the usage of the metered application that you desire to control.
